About the Foundation
In 2003, the Commonwealth Bank established the Commonwealth Bank Foundation, building on the Bank’s contribution of more than 70 years, to education and financial literacy.
The Foundation is capitalised with a $70 million contribution from the Bank. The income stream from this capital supports the Foundation’s activities.
Chief Executive Officer, Mr Ralph Norris, chairs the Foundation which is overseen by a Board of senior Bank executives.
Recognising the importance that young Australians feel competent to manage their money and make informed decisions, the Foundation works in collaboration with education groups, authorities and teaching associations from across Australia, to develop comprehensive programs to support financial literacy education.
The Foundation is currently supporting activities developed directly by the Foundation, although from time to time it may consider partnerships with organisations and groups where these are consistent with Foundation objectives.
At this time, the Foundation is developing its own education programs and is not seeking applications for funding.
