Sport has the power to bring whole countries, cities and communities together for moments of excitement and entertainment.
The Commonwealth Bank supports the growth of sport in Australia and, in particular, the importance of team spirit and good health. Our partnerships encourage excellence in sport at a local, regional and national level and provide young Australians with access to sporting opportunities.
Cricket Australia
We have supported cricket at all levels for more than 20 years through Cricket Australia’s pathway program, which established the Commonwealth Bank Centre of Excellence – a successful finishing school for talented young cricketers. We also sponsor our national women’s cricket team, the Commonwealth Bank Southern Stars.
In 2006, the Commonwealth Bank became the major sponsor of the Commonwealth Bank Series and the Australian One-Day international team. Since then, nearly a million people have attended the Commonwealth Bank Series and the television broadcast has been watched by millions more.
