Ralph Norris' appointment as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Commonwealth Bank took effect from 23 September 2005. He has a distinguished 30-year career in banking and has twice been honoured as New Zealand's Executive of the Year.

Ross McEwan leads the Group’s largest division, Retail Banking Services. His responsibilities focus on meeting the financial needs of personal customers seeking convenient and affordable banking and financial services.

Barbara Chapman joined the Commonwealth Bank as Group Executive in July 2006. She leads the Group’s Human Resources and Marketing and Communications functions.

Michael Harte
Group Executive, Enterprise IT, and Chief Information Officer
Michael Harte joined the Group in April 2006 as Group Executive, Enterprise IT. In this role, Michael leads the development of the Group’s technology function and the implementation of the Group’s IT strategy.

Garry Mackrell
Group Executive, International Financial Services
Garry Mackrell was appointed Head of International Financial Services in September 2001. In this role, Garry is responsible for the Group’s offshore growth in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also responsible for managing the Group’s existing Asia-Pacific banking and life operations in New Zealand, China, India, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Vietnam and Fiji. |

David Cohen
General Counsel
David Cohen joined the Commonwealth Bank as General Counsel in June 2008. David advises the CEO and the Board on legal matters, and leads the Group's legal team. Prior to joining the Group, David had been General Counsel of AMP since 2003.

Group Executive, Wealth Management
Grahame Petersen leads the Wealth Management division, managing the global manufacture, distribution and administration of investment offerings and the Group’s Australian insurance businesses. The division includes Colonial First State, Colonial First State Global Asset Management and CommInsure.
